How to Portray Evil Seaweed That's Trying to Murder You

I looked up evil seaweed and got nothing.

I have a few ideas, none that don't seem overly cheesy...

Seaweed with a menacing shape formed by the tendrils...

glossy/drippy bloody seaweed....

Anyone ever tackled this one before? I was looking for a plant monster COW....(creature of the week)

I think it would need to be conveyed mostly with colour and stylization.

Maybe dark colours with grungy/scratchy/dirty textures.
