sketches for CID agents, they're supposed to be the same thing as the FBI...

as these are gonna be inked and colored, I'd really like some c&c on these

hmm...

no replies yet, but I've noticed something I need to fix on the girl in the middle.
Her legs and feet look really strange, should point more forward, and something doesn't really work on her right arm can't really see what it is, but will have to look over that again

Actually I've never been told what CID stands for...

The antomical problems, all I see is in the second one (besides her screwed up legs, and the strange arm) is a long and thin neck (did this on purpose, but will change that)
and in the third one maybe a bit to long arm and the right foot looks a bit strange...

Am I missing something more? would really appriecate some comments about the anatomy

as these characters are supposed to look like fbi agents I can't really do much about their costumes...
but I will probably redo the third character, don't think the pose really works

i think i figured out what is wrong with her arm...

it looks as though the direction the arm is pointing and the direction the hand is pointing does not match up...and it's a little long...

Problem with the arms is that you draw them a bit short - stand up, let your arms hang and see how far they drop. Its quite impressive actually - the upper arm alone can reach all the way down to the hips.

Other rather errors are Marlas breasts (add gravity. Breasts aren't solid spheres - just pretend you're drawing sacks of water beneath a shirt), and the 2nd girls arms - again length, but this time the pose is a bit awkward too. Again, I can always say try to do the poses your characters would try - see what problems you run into. Better yet have someone else do them, but its not always easy to find volunteers ;)

In all honesty though, they're very nice sketches (especially the more refined first one), and interesting characters. Keep it up :)

As these characters has to be pretty formal dressed, the girls would probably wear bras, that means I can't really draw the breasts as I would for example at a lifedrawing class. A pushup bra makes the breast kinda circular... :)

as for arms, I usually go by the fact that the wrist and the crotch is on the same line, this probably isn't true on people with long legs and marla has pretty long legs...

I will completly redo the third sketch, don't like it at all (just has alot of other stuff I'm working right now)

thanks for all the crit everybody

Loose clothing simply doesn't wrap. it softens the shapes if anything, doesn't accentuate the actual position of whats underneath. Also, different bras can apply pressure differently - obviously though, if you'd circularly push it 'down', you'd get a rather small look to the breast (they yield to pressure, thats why they're fun to play with :p). Not that it really matters - in the end, the clothing simply sits over it like a tent over a pole. Unless you'd starch it or use supports inside the clothing to give it that awkward shape ;)

Listen to these guys here. That breast anatomy is weird - take a look at any girl in a white shirt and tie or something similiarly formal, and you'll see what kind of shapes you could look less awkward with.

Anyway. Don't wanna start a fight over a few boobehs, its your choice what look you prefer after all. Also, for hands/arms - the wrist is afaik more towards the lower end of the waist, if you stand limply, the length of the legs shouldn't influence torso/arms proportion much. You're probably right on that one, but they still look kind of odd - tleast play with a few options.

Have reworked these a bit...

changed her quite a bit, wanted to get a bit more movement into her, the orignal sketch was way to dull
http://alextornberg.com/art/concepts/sketches/ccafv1_sketch_reworked.jpg

As I said before I didn't like the orginal of this one, so I completly redid her... (have fixed the feet on her, but hasn't scanned it)
http://alextornberg.com/art/concepts/sketches/ccafv2_sketch_reworked.jpg

Hasn't changed very much on him though... will fix the trowsers when I ink him, they are a bit short right now
http://alextornberg.com/art/concepts/sketches/ccamv2_sketch_reworked.jpg

Will check refrences on the clothing a bit more before I go to inking, but had to do these pretty quick so I didn't have time for that just then....

And sorry Salzbad if I got a bit defensive on you're advise, was just that I showed these (the old ones) for a teacher and he didn't comment on that, but took your advise anyway when I reworked these...

all good, except for the center girl. Her legs and left arm seem not to be in a 'comftorable' position for shooting. I think the left arm should either be outstretched back and down, or moved across the chest to hold the gun, while the legs on both stances are widened, with the former stance having most of the torso straight, while the latter stance having a slight twist.

Just my two cents :)
