This is a portrait of Pearl Cornioley. In her lifetime she was an Allied agent in WWII France. She parachuted behind enemy lines and armed the resistance movement under the alias, "Pauline," killing almost 1000 Nazi troops.
The portrait is primarily about the secrecy that was inherent to her duties which is the reason for the slat of light on her eyes. Personally, I like that rabbit

Hi Tim, there's nice stuff going on with this one, but it could use quite a bit more polishing up. The transition from the figure to the background is a little sloppy, and I really don't like the way the rabbit's ears interact with her neck and collar. I understand the concept of the eye light, but it's placement makes her look like she has five o'clock shadow, and the yellow rim light needs to be handled better to not be distracting.

I agree with "Dad" for the rabbit's ear.
I love the overall painting but the highlight on here face is too strong and it erase the rest of here face.
I like the rabbit too,(looks more like a hare btw)

I personally think It's good, but a bit too dark. Maybe you could lighten it up a bit and see what happens.

I really like the portrait as well as the focus of the piece.
I do think you should push down the ambient lighting more, making her eye-slat beam even MORE focussed. What I mean is, I think you could go a lot darker, and maybe keep her lit-up eyes and nose about the same - with some transition.
I think the bunny is rad, but it belongs in a seperate piece unless it has a purpose.
The neck colar/bunny ears didn't really bother me.

Guys thanks for all the responses.
Tristan- i see what you mean with the lighting and tried to move it up a little and it actually increased the mood of the piece too.
spook- thanks and i think it might actually be a hare? i'm actually not to sure of the difference. heh.
ani- thanks! i think i'll keep it on the dark side to keep that lighting.
jamian- thanks for the comment. i understand your comments about the rabbit and/or hare but i wanted the bunny in the piece because firstly, she never travelled without it and i like the outside element it brings.
here's the pic with new lighting :D
