This time I am having a go on Caprice Bourret. First I draw a rough sketch of her pretty face. I am using an iball tablet.

Next I begin isolating areas of distinct colors around her face. This is quite painstaking, but worth the effort. This method will clearly provide me with the skin tones for the face. The face is the most important part of a human figure and certainly of a portrait.:lifedrawing:

Now I am trying to smoothen the blocks of color over her cheekbone area.

Lets do some surgery of colors on the portrait's chin now.

Ok, now that her chin is complete, lets pay some attention to her luscious lips. They should come out of those cartoony lines to a 3d form with depth. And they should be charming and kissable. ;)

...and beautiful teeth.

Lets take a glance from some distance... hmm, looks fine to me. Now lets breath some life in her face. The only way to do that is make her eyes realistic. When an image looks back at you, its alive.

This is looking great! I love the color and the realism you got with the eyes. Can't wait to see more.
