Okay, so I've been lurking here for a month or two and I am finally getting around to posting my own sketchbook, after much nagging from my little brother.
There are so many awesome artists here, and so friendly too! I'm quite excited and really hoping I will be able to improve faster with everyones help~ XD
So there isn't too many interesting things to post right now, mostly studies from Bridgman or random little doodles.
I'm really sorry about the rather crappy quality, they were taken in my basement with my camera due to a lack of scanner at the moment =\.... Next updates will have better quality!!

Yup i agree with coldrum keep working on those fundamentals and you will far and keep posting, the more you post the more we can help, another suggestion that might help is when your copying from a book really think about it your not copying the image for memory your copying it for Understanding!!! if you can figure that out you will waste a lot less time in the begging of your studies it took me along time to figure it out anyway good luck now get to it!!!.

coldrum - Thank you so much, I really do appreciate it =)
aussiedeza - Thank you so much!!! That is probably -the- best piece of advice I have received in a long time and I will definitely take it to heart. Again, thank you~
Oh dear... It's been quite a while since I posted x_X aaah, I got busy with preparing for conventions and stuff. I really wish I had more to show for not posting in a month and a half but... D=
So uh... Onto the art =)
Mmm, this one I forgot to put into the last post so I figured I'd throw it in here

Hey Slinkybabes; You have such a good start here and you've improved by quite a bit since last year. Keep going at it ! These are great studies and it looks like you're already benefiting from them. Cheers, missy! <3

These are great.
Good work with the bridgeman sketches.
Very nice pencil work.
The messy portrait is really cool.

Milled - thanks so much love XD Your encouragement is enough to make one melt
Ash888 - Thank you so much!! I really appreciate it~!
Just a small update for now, I'm going to try and update at least every couple days because it isn't like I'm not drawing. And I will try to keep it true to a real sketchbook and post everything, even if I despise it.
Yes, MORE bridgman studies. They really help me to calm down and get in the mood to draw =)

Half a face I did in about 15 minutes on and off while watching my boyfriend play Metal Gear Solid 2. I'm so bad for not finishing them =\

Another small update tonight, and it's nothing exciting. A couple scribbles and a study
Last night a friend told me to draw in ms paint, so I scribbled something up quickly. It's ugly but XD
385338
I took the time today to redo it a little. Not extremely pleased with the results but =\ *shrug
385339
And then I did a really quick study of a statue I found on google or something?

A couple more updates. Hopefully I will be able to update again with what I'm working on right now.
Mmmm, didn't like how this one turned out but
391244
And then I doodle these faces to practice because I was so unhappy with how the one above turned out
391245
Then, over the last two days while I was at my boyfriends house I did these bridgman studies/scribbles, as well as a character design that I am still working on

Here is the character design I was hoping to finish today.
It's really sketchy, and the colours are flat and choppy but I didn't need anything super detailed. Suggestions on improving her design and making it more interesting would really be appreciated!!

Working on some master studies. This one is one from Bouguereau and spent just under an hour on it
I'm still having a really hard time with getting the colours right =\
Any suggestions please??

Hmm... if you were doing it as a traditional medium study (oils), I'd have more advice. Anyways, I looked up the painting and the colors for the hair and skin tone are a little warmer than your recreation. Now that you have the basis colors laid out, you can go back and refine the colors more. The drawing itself looks good, the whole thing definately feels like the original already. Can't wait to see another update on this one. :-)
Oh! And the studies you are doing look great. I really like the hands in your first post, they have really good line quality.

Mmm, sorry for the shoddy update, I've been somewhat lacking inspiration recently, my mind has been on other things XD
Uh, so just some... lion drawings? Got a picture in my head and figured I'd practice drawing lions. I labeled them with numbers to show the order I drew them in just to (hopefully!) show the amount I improved from the first to the last =)
This was also to help myself practice observing details quickly so I didn't spend more than 15 minutes on each of them.

Any suggestions would be great!

So, I haven't updated in a while, I've been pretty damn busy. I started working at a frame shop a couple of months ago and am enjoying it more than I had imagined. Of course, that's no excuse, I should always find time to my art, and to post and get help. Kicking myself for it now, getting close to a year now and I could have improved so much more in the time I've wasted.
Anyway, here are the updates. Some of them are terrible but eh, Those are the ones I could learn the most from, yes?

I don't think I scanned the rest of the stuff I did, but *shrug*
By the way! I'm looking for a mentor over at The Mentor Thread (http://conceptart.org/forums/showthread.php?t=110324)!! So if anyone feels like helping me out, let me know~.

Those toned paper drawings look pretty good. Try to map out the other eye though. Eyes always work together to form an expression.

Aaron Death, Thank you! I will definitely be practicing that more, I'm pretty bad for not drawing both eyes, but like you pointed out, it's really important when it comes to expressions.
So I cheated a little, it's not really an update today, just an update of some of the other stuff I haven't uploaded in the last couple months...
attempting to understand face shapes
596417
Some fabric studies and a scary face with an eye that is far too large

A sketch of my White Lion from Warhammer

Mmm, small update, but atleast it is something that was done today. I Was going to scan more old stuff but then I figured recent stuff is more important.
a figure study I was doing today. I don't know if I will finish it, but I think I learned a lot from it. Her legs are all wrong, I can't tell if it's because the left one is too short, or if the knee is too low or if her right leg is too long or what, but they are wrong, as is her belly... of course, I don't want rant too much about the imperfections, I think I would much rather have someone point them out. I feel it would help me out more =)

You've got some great stuff in here! Real awesome studies and some great WIPs. I guess the one thing I would recommend is really trying to bring some contrast into your work. Really try and make the darks dark and the lights light, pull in the whole grey scale since a lot of your stuff has awesome form but looks greyed out.
Haha the only reason I bring this up is because it's something I really struggle with and have been reminded of many times that my stuff lacks contrast.
That's just the one thing I notice. Anatomy and form wise you're dead on, very beautiful pieces.
