Really amazing stuff! I love your use of uneven grounds and the way you integrate at least small aspects of nature into the designs (Like the birds and small tufts of plantlife). It gives everything a very grounded feel, without making it look mundane.

Great lighting and narratives in all your work.
It's both technically and conceptually awesome. Goodtimes!

God Damn this stuff is beautiful. At least half of this is going on my hard drive. That first enviro i havent seen on your site either, and it is phenomenal. Any chance of a step-by-step on any of these?

You already know what i think of the matte paintings from mattepainting.org but i love your concept work as much or more, it has so much textural quality and stunning lighting!

5* from me!

Amazing stuff all around :O I love the texture on the first one I swear I can almost pick the moss off those trees in there. The oriental city scape is absolutely perfect too. You can almost hear the hustle and bustle and feel the heat from the street on that one. Inspirational stuff.

Everything from composition to mood is very strong - these are easily some of the most impressive environment pieces I've seen to date. How long on average did these take, if I may ask?

ditlev
April 15th, 2008, 01:04 PM
Hi Cgaddict
Thank you for the kind words. Each painting took about two days. I went kind of overboard with them in the level of detail and interest, and it was fun. usually I would have toned it down to keep focus.

Your concept work is simply amazing, I love the depth and movement as well as the colors and composition of each one. I'm not surprised you do this as a professional just by looking at your art. Your matte pictures just blew me away, a lot of people don't do traditional art anymore and seeing something like this is really inspiring.
