Looking good so far. I like the rendering of the mummified skin/bone, but I'd like to see a slight difference between the skull decorations and the main character tones, unless the skulls on his shoulders have mummified skin and tissues on them.

The pose is happening and I'm not too sure on proportions, but even if they were off, it wouldn't matter. Its a mummy! If he has a gold headress I'd also try and distinguish that from his dried flesh, unless you want a more monotone colour scheme. I don't really know the contest so I'm not too sure on some of the crits o.0 Good start!

When can we see him fight the Wrestling Women?

Thanks for the comments WSM..the contest is a 3d challenge..create a Nightbreed (vampire, WereWolf, Frankenstien, creature from blk lagoon, or mummy) with a polygon limit of 10k with a minimum of 9950..I've been trying to get into the habit of really fleshing out my concepts before translating them to 3d..

Elwell: Uh ?

Ahh yes then monochrome does not matter too much right? The lanky look to him would really transfer nicely to a model I think. It is good to work from a well done concept sketch or painting before modelling I can assume with my very limited experience. The contest sounds like a fun one. Good luck ;)

I´m a bit confused? This is the concept for the yet-to-be-made 3d character?
Are U the concepter and the modeller and skinner?
I´m interessted because I try also to make concepts for 3D (no 3D myself though) and then I have to flesh it out in many angles, so the modeller knows what to do - almost like a blueprint of the character.
I guess If you´re doing the work entirely yourself, U kind of "see" the whole figure, even if theres only a frontside?
Also - can U use this image for the skin??

Personally, Ive always had troble if I didnt work on the whole entire figure at the same tim, but I see U got a different approach, It makes it kind of harder to crit it though.
But the dried-up twisted muscles is looking good .:D

"I´m a bit confused? This is the concept for the yet-to-be-made 3d character"

yep

"Are U the concepter and the modeller and skinner?"

Yep

I am more of a 3d guy than a 2d guy. I just recently started doing concepts for my work because it helps my workflow..I dont have to think about design when I am modeling- all I have to do is refrence the concept. The only time I use orthographic ("blueprint type") concepts is if I think I'm going to have trouble with proportions..I will probly do a backside angle of him..but nothing as eleborate as this ..I won't use this for the skin..will paint that from scratch..using this as a genral refrence..thanks for the comments

cool stuff man. u adding normalmaps and all that crazy bogaisy stuff to it as well? Low poly modelling has become to advanced of an art for me to follow :(

Nice goin tho, I love the "sketch".
