Hey guys. Just wanted to add my two cents.
I went to a conference in Wellington, NZ last year where we were lucky enough to hear Jason Manley speak. It was a great opportunity for the NZ CA fans, because its a F*#KING long way to the workshops from down here - and mighty expensive.
Anywhoo - he did a great wee talk on colour theory that was entirely too short. His talk was similar to the Gnomn - practical light and colour dvd (great watch). However, where that talked about photographic qualities of light, Jason focussed on art history, painting, and emotional responses to colour. An eye opening, and inspiring talk.
I for one would pay for a download about that - anyone else?
JASON! JASON! JASON!:yum: :yayca:
Ps. Are you guys at war with gnomn? or are they just competition? I can write deviantart without it disappearing right?
Your stuff is unique, original, amazing quality, affordable content. I don't think u should worry that much about them :P
Massive Black rules ok in my book.

I know...I know...I'm with ya. Have been in the middle of two workshop events (planning) and moving MB forward in business. There are a list of downloads in production now and mine will eventually get pushed through there. I have some more work to do. The more I get done the more I want to chew on it to be sure it is all straight and updated. A bit more time yet...
Thanks though...you guys made me smile.

Well we have the chicks who paint chicks calendar, how about a "Massive Black Manpower" topless photo shoot? :muscle:
It's got a certain 'ring' to it right?

I have to agree that I'm really looking forward to the Jason Manley color theory download. I saw him give the presentation at the Seattle workshop, and it was awesome the way he explained those paintings. It is fading from memory, and I want to paint for a while, watch the video, paint some more. Keep going back so that I really grasp what he's talking about.
I'd probably download his business talk too, if it were available.
Not to hassle Jason or anything, he's a busy guy.

Definately, Jason's dark elf mage tutorial off some graphic site was really invaluable to me at the time I read it....
In the meantime though, a discussion about colors and mood would also be welcome amongst the members, I think i'll go search around to see what's been said.
Jason's art is really wonderful though it has a special feel to it.

Get to work! The faster you get work done, the sooner you'll be able to show me the painting you were telling me about!

ok so the first vids are finally in full production. I am doing a series of collaborations with ZhangLu of Massive Black Shanghai. We are covering various topics on the Art of the Female Form, starting with portraiture videos covering various races, ideas, and important info.
Color Theory is still in the works...that one is taking forever...same with Composition. A new editor is coming on, so I think we may make some progress there. Am learning a lot from the Portrait videos which will get applied to the bigger intensive productions like these two.
