I did this to express my recent mood and wound up testing out a new way to color. I could call this done now, but I'm still thinking of adding an environment to the picture and altering some lighting.

that is one HUGE head!! i really like this piece, there just seem to be some anatomical issues. heads too big, foot's too small, thigh doesn't really look foreshortened. i also think the painting is a little light. throw some darks in there and it will give your figure more form. the wings are gorgeous. i love them. as for the background, yeah go ahead and add one if you want, it will give your piece a more finished look, but i think the "concept" comes across just fine without one.
