Unable to achieve equal robot rights in a peaceful fashion, many rogue robots turned to space-piracy. Often they would shoot large meteorites at their prey, and sometimes even ride the projectiles. They soon learned to use magnetic meteors which would stick to the helpless victim's ship, allowing the pirate to find a way on-board. Lacking any sort of steering, many of these space pirates ended up in deep space.

My ship was built so poorly, that it exploded. ^^

The famous Death's Hand space pirates got their start by building their own ship from scratch. It consisted of a large asteroid of dense matter and was propelled by a dark-matter reactor core salvage from an old derelict battleship.

They also added the large jaws of a Ouz'tyxl (a gargantuan deepspace behemoth) and a discarded deepcore mining drill bit. In action, this cheaply constructed pirate ship would ram it's victim, punching a hole in it's hull. The jaws would then clamp down on the helpless ship as the drill bit was retracted and the Death's Hand would spill in through the newly aquired entrance. Many historians believe it is because of this ship's fearsome appearance and brutal attacks that the Death's Hand was so notorious.
