thanks.. Glad you like:)

for some reason I draw women turning into trees a lot. I think it is because when I was a little kid I remember watching a program that showed the myth of Apollo chasing Daphnie (I think it was Daphnie anyway) and when Hera turned her into a tree so she could escape.. I guess the image got burned into my brain. That is kind of what this is. A dryad is a female tree spirit.

Oz, hi! I saw this post at NS but will respond here. I'm totally in awe of your style. Everything has so much pop! This dryad looks like she's made of super shiny liquid metal, an effect I've seen alot in your work. It always makes my jaw drop! :D Only comment I have is that her hair seems somewhat unfinished. I think it might be because there is no end to her skull in the back and nothing emerging from that area to show us where it has ended. ;)

Thanks for the kind words Velo. This is a style that I have been working on for a while and it feels like it is finally coming together.

I see what you mean about the hair and head. I was hoping that the negative space might help to define the hair/head but I think you are right.. it doesnt. My intention was to extend the hair out and make the hair (branches) longer which would have defined it a bit more but then I realised I was running out of paper so settled on just implying them. Still, I see what you mean.

Thanks for the feedback.
