either refine the cockpit and the pilot or leave them out and just make a light reflection to cover them, the abdomen, or his last body section is great, his legs are great too, except for those yellow spikes, i say get rid of them or face them in the other direction, but maybe when you've refined them they'll look better too, I like the wings and i don't know how neccesary that big yellow stripe is in his mid-section, so basically its looking good, but you have to finish it more if you want really helpful criticism

this is really cool. i like how you handled pretty much the whole design of it.
Those loose pipes comming out of the gaps in his end body section look a little out of place.
Finnish fleashing out the legs, cockpit and wing parts (how they attach).
Great stuff, id like to see your other concepts

First , your well on your way to doing photoshop rendering and for the most part your surfaces read nicely.
Still though It wouldn't hurt to do some tutorial on this subject.
Also it wouldn't hurt to check your perspective-try drawing a line basted on the bottom surface of the mouth and then draw another line based on the relationship between the bottom of the front feet. I think it will give you a sence of any drafting errors that you may have.
Finally, I am sorry to say that I do not like the actual design of the bug.
Imediatly, the bug looks to much like a bug, it may be more exciting if you showed us your interpretation of a bug. Have fun with it , THIS ISN'T MATH CLASS. I have the math class disorder myself.
Also details don't seem to be intentionally placed but rather arbatrarally placed. Think of where you want to the viewers eye to go, and remember your design basics - tone, contrast ect.
Something that may help this piece is to changethe size of the varoious details on the bug. Tony Couch ( water color guy) refers to it as "alternative variation. Ect. Draw a bunch of trees, make them all the same size and shape and make them equally spaced. Now draw a group of trees and this time make them all the same shape but different size and space them out differently. YOu may find the secound example much more interesting.
wew, I hope that helps. Youv've inspired me to post some of my own photoshop work. Can't wait to see more, hope I helped.
