A friend of mine challenged me to draw a Samurai, so I sketched this out pretty quick. I think I am going to paint him today, I like how he turned out.

Any suggestions or feedback would be great before I finish him up with color.

Very Nice, kinda looks like a print drawing, with the black background and scratchy linequality.

1 suggestion though: check out the feet on this guy. I think if you let them reach out towards the viewer just a little more it would look better.

STOOOOOOOOOP

Before you color the entire thing. I just want to make a few suggestion.

1) The Tsuka (hande) is too small. He looks like he might be goin into battle he needs a bigger handle. Otherwise the sword hes holding will be a wakizashi sword (with a small handle not used for battle). No samurai ever carries JUST a wakizashi.

2)The feet do need changing. However, dont draw zori (sandals), draw some warrior footwear.

Otherwise it looks great man :D

you know, i am glad you noticed the handle. it really wasnt my intention to have it so small..just in my very first rough sketch before his hand was even there thats how i had drawn it, i had ment to change it but forgot. thanks much appreciated.

where his feet are concerned, i dont plan to give him sandals but rather a thick kind of hard leather boot.

His arm holding the hilt is a little off anatomy-wise.
