Hi. Among my many hobbies, I have a small press business in the form of Atomic Rocket Games (I swear, our webpage will be updated SOON, and we actually have product coming, too).

One of the things that this has taught me is how to deal with submissions.

Wizards has a set of submission guidelines buried on their webpage. You should find these and read them thoroughly.

After that, you should check and see if they're accepting submisisons. If they're not, you're literally wasting your time. They won't even look at your stuff.

Also, be aware that some companies have clauses on their submission policies that state clearly that anything you submit, even if they don't give you a contract, becomes their property. (ARG would never, ever, do this. We believe in the "contract leasing" of the artwork... we get the ability to use it in our products, but you get paid for it... it remains your work and you can do whatever you want with it.) If you don't want your submitted work showing up in someone's game supplement, be very careful to check their use policies.

Is it worth it? Well, working for WOTC gives you more exposure than most people could ever hope for. So, yeah, if you can get it, it's a sweet gig. :)

Hope this helps.
