The two pictures I drew yesterday show the environment, my new character and his friends live in...He is a small beaver-boy who loves to play finball. It's a game close to soccer but played with the beavers fin, instead of the feet... The first pic shows his home. It got a water slide and a diving board and lots of torches to enlighten the area.
The second one shows the games field. The tall tree is used as goal and the flags on the right side count the scores. I'll post some character sketches later...
I want to draw the inside of the beavers home, next...but I am not sure what to integrate...perhaps you guys have some idea about the interior?

I like the style, its got that "whinnie the poo" feel to it. However i dont like how the view of the playing field in the second peice is straight on. I think the view of it should be at a slight angle. Also, maybe you should add some seating for an audience in that gap to the right? It looks alittle barren in that spot. It kinda scare me too... i know its just to show the enviroment, but appears as if all the bevears are dead, or in hiding. Especially since their are streamers hanging everywhere, it almost gives me the impression that nobody has been there in ages. I think maybe its the colors in the trees and grass to the right... they almost look like they are dying. The top one is great though, it really gives you that feeling the the occupants are tucked in for the evening, and it was a really good idea to go with a full moon effect.

Nice idea, Hermchen, I also like the technique (it's color pencils, isn't it, on rather rough paper?). But I also agree with KeatonMarks: The places look deserted and the angle/perspective of the playground somehow looks distorted.
However, I'd like to see more!

Well all I have to say is that so far it looks great, and not to step on anyones toes, but I don't share in the 'Night of the Living Dead Beavers' motif.
The angle idea is ok but thene again your just displaying ideas and I must say that so far they look fairly well planned out. My beef is with the first one, maybe I'm just jumping the gun but it looks like either the beaver house is to big for it's enviroment. Granted I know it is stylized but either I am not seeing the depth correctly or it just seems to be to clutered. Beaver den's are usualy in a dam (is taht the right spelling?) situation where a lake forms because of it, so you tend to have a larger water front.
As for the interior I would just do what your doing now. stylized furniture and keep it simple, like the house, I get an overall feeling that this beaver has advanced to making his house from clay or something similar (sorry if I upset you with atht but I don't get a wood feeling from it like I do from the logs in the forefront). So given this rather smoother apearance you may want to continue the same on the interior and use wooden object to contrast the smoothness. Like a wood grain (maybe a small leaf) type of refrigirator, or table and chairs.
Anyway I hope this made some sense and I'm not just tiered and rambeling (ok ok so I do talk to much and can't spell).
I hope this helps.
