Heres a mouth I just finished, mainly focused on the teeth.

Also, I havent ever done a self portrait before, so I figured it is time.
Im still working on figuring out how to paint with my wacom, so bear with me.
Any crits or comments as always are graciously appreciated.

its interesting to see how authentic a painting/drawing becomes, if you get the eyes right. in #2 the 3 sketch, theres a totaly unfinished piece, but it alredy has some life because of the eyes.
I think I just decided to do some more studies on eyes =)
post more, this is interesting

Sinto - Hey thanks man, ya know I was just thinking about doing a few figure studies here pretty soon. Should have some stuff up in a few days on that.

Satori - I totally agree, the eyes seem to make or break alot of things and are a ton of fun to paint.

Shall be posting more in the next few days when I can, have a friend coming into town and works a bit busy so keep checking back.
Thanks again for the comments and keep em comin!

I love the shark!

God your eyes and the mouth scare me, but they are really captivating. There's so much depth. I suck at that. :[

More please!

The mouth is a bit shallow, think about the teeth as following a half circle curve.

Thanks for commenting in my sketchbook! And thats a really good idea about incorporating that type of drawing into faces or skulls, I might try that! You got some cute little drawings in here.

Retronym - You know I totally agree, It should have some darker darks, I'm not sure if im going to re visit that one though... Think ill just do another and keep this in mind. Hmmm

amordecosmos - thanks!

This was just me being bored, and figured id do a sketch of a girl, seeing as how i find Im typically pretty awful at getting them right.

Hey thanks for the note. I think it's interesting that you used those colors for your backgrounds. I would love to see you continue to work on that Apr. 1st profile picture. It looks really good. And of course the eyes look good. KEEP GOING! I like it.

Yo! Got some cool stuff in here! Diggin' on a couple of those pencil characters! You'd benefit from some anatomy studies (yes, the never ending anatomy crit :P Workin' on it myself though... hehe)... Even with your imaginary characters/creatures, it's good to have a strong mental library of anatomy..

The Walter-piece is tight! Is that illustrator or somesuch?

More, please. Like dCepT said, some anatomy studies can go a long way. Nice work, though. Kudos for the Big Lebowski quote.
