I love this one. Haw, haw, I think I had better take my teddy bears out of my room!

<bitter> Stop it with the fanboy bullshit. You two guys sound like you're a couple of brainless twelve years olds. Makes me sick. This site has a certain level of professionalism and intelligence, i suggest you get with it. </bitter>

I think the design is nice, sort of evil toy like. The light on the stomach is nice but the left (his right) arm could use more foreshortening to really let it explode off the page.

The background square trick has been used too many times, even though the bubbles give it a nice extra. Perhaps it is time to see character designs that reveal more character. In that sense it's great to see the bear does have action in stead of the usual static pose.

hoy erik leave them to it. they have the right to say whatever they want unless its not insultive or otherwise. and it doesnt matter how smart you think you are, by saying what ya did it makes you look like the brainless 12 year old
cheers

jbuchwitz:
great drawing
the designs in the backgroundwork well enough, even tho the plain black seems a bit heavy.

Yeah it is true they do have the right to say whatever they want. I have the same right. Sorry if it was offensive or over the top.

Its just that i get so incredibly bored wading thru all the replies that have no content except for 'whoohoo' and all of its variations. It's just not what this forum is about. That's all.

I did not say i did not like the BG, just that it is maybe a bit similar to lots of other character BG's.

Hey jbuchwitz, I like this character quite abit. My only crit is with that nasty gash on his right arm and how fresh it looks like it supposed to be, I sortof expected there to be blood dripping out of the wound, maybe soaking the fur around the arm. Or maybe some bits of fur flying off. It just doesn't look quite convincing as a wound.

I like the sense of movement alot, like he's leaping forward and winding up for a vicious swipe with his left paw. Nice work.
:chug:

Don't mind Erik guys. ;)

He's the Forum's flamer/hardcase. Every forum has at least one. He mostly just bitches, with the odd fanboi - i quote (http://www.conceptart.org/forums/showthread.php?s=&postid=99711#post99711) - "These are great!" (they are great too :) ) thrown in for fun. He certainly does give some decent crits most of the time though, and is a better artist than I am. :D

If he was truly concerned about professionalism, he would have PMed the people instead of bawling them out in public.

Some good texture with the lines used. I'm not all that good with fore-shortening, but I see what Erik means by increasing it on his right arm. It would give a more 3d sense to the character and look farther away from the body.
