Many animation schools tote there place on 3d world's list of top animation schools. Here's the full list, as well as a breakdown of how they did the rankings, and who the system favors or disfavors:

I'm fairly certain that their program hasn't changed dramatically since then. Still, I'd take the list with a grain of salt, as the rating system undeniably favors large schools, international schools (as they tend to submit to multiple festivals), and schools were they spend a lot of time on their senior thesis.

I'd take it with a huge grain of salt.

I've often contended that people shouldn't make their choices based solely on these rankings. What works for a fair amount of people still might not be right for a certain individual.

Even other college and university people are starting to hate this ranking system...

I guese I didn't make this clear, but my intent was more to help people to understand how the rankings are determined, so that they are informed when a school tells them they are ranked x in the country, rather than people to make there desicion based on the list.

Yeah, of course these rankings mean nothing. But you still get a general idea of how good the program may be. Overall, it does indeed come down to the individual and how much work they put into research, their work, and their networking.

Well...from what I've read xD
