i'm not japanese, but i can still translate it..
muryo no chuushoku ni masaru mono nashi.
there is no better thing than free lunch (or nothing beats free lunch).
無料 muryo - free
昼食 chuushoku - lunch
勝 masaru - win
物 mono - thing
無し nashi - is not/nothing
but i don't think it's something you would come across in japanese. it's not a common saying - it seems more like an english expression literally translated.

Thanks! I was a bit dishonest when I said I wanted a translation, I was more looking for verification. I had the line "there is no such thing as a free lunch" translated by a drunk Japanese dude when I was in Barcelona for New Years and since he was a funny guy normally I figured its best to have someone translate it back to me :)
Actually, do you think I could ask you a favor? I would like to have the phrase "there is no such thing as a free lunch" written in Japanese, and in better quality than what I have now (3x3 inch piece of paper....). Would that be hard for you to do?
