I've never tried this before. It's a little scary.
But I did draw something I wouldn't ever have done otherwise, so it's all good, right?

Why does my jpeg look kinda blurry? It didn't before I saved it, I saved it maximum through the web safe option in Photoshop

Racasdorph: you got a case of the dreaded 'crappy qualities' with outputting eh? 1) make a copy of your image, just to make sure you don't copy over the original cause that sucks. 2) resize this image to the desired pixel dimensions you want it to display in the forum. Make sure the DPI is 72 3) View at 100%, this is what is will look like in the forum, sharpen/tweak the image as required. with large reduction of size sharp lines often get a bit soft. 4) save as JPG ('save for web' in Photoshop), adjust setting so no visible degradation is apparent. often illustrations can be compressed to 40% quality with minimal loss of quality. if you have options about using 'web safe colours' don't select them, select adaptive or selective.
if in doubt save a few versions, view each at 100% size (very important) in a browser and decide which is best.

I lost the bird concept along the way, not sure if she is the ambassador type either. But no longer then 20 min work, Yay.
Hart-verloren: welcome to the DSG, its all about things you would never draw in your life unless you join the DSG. Nice first entry.

mindlesspuppet: I admire the ones who are able to draw simply and well. every word of the topic is clearly depicted :)
my second fav is Tommoy's pic :)
it's weekend, I have more time and I try to return to these wonderful tasks :)

Great sketches so far.
Hart-Verloren, I love yours. She looks very graceful and polished.
Tommoy, I don't think you lost the bird idea much at all. Maybe in the face but the rest of the design is quite bird like.

She's supposed to be greeting you with her near hand...but that didn't really come off well. Her feathers look like a turban.

I realy want to put more detail in this one, this is just a "speed paintish preview".
I might replace it with a final version later, if u have any tips i'd like to hear them :P

The back wing reads "bird" in Japanese and the front one reads "woman". The scanner I used took away some of the value, and cut the right edge of the image off.

About 30-40 minutes in Photoshop. Kind of steam punkish with a bit of humor. Up late listening to Okaku and Bell talking about the future of physics and technology.

Well... not much of a bird, and not much of an ambassador, here is what i drew up after reading the prompt:

kind of generic, i dont like it much.

this was inspired by the victoria crowned pigeon... the execution of the legs realy didn't come out to great, It was a little odd to make the thighs shorter than the legs....w/e

For some reason I thought of Joan Rivers. So, I guess what would be cybernetic is plastic surgery. I know possibly not totally per say, but considering what you have to do to augment and 'hold in place' with certain procedures it remains much of the same. :D

Woohoo...first post.
This gal I was forced to draw on MS Paint because I haven't re-installed PSP after the hard drive crashed. I think she looks okay anyways; it's not like I don't love drawing on paint.
