Originally it was a sketch done in a few minutes, which I tried my hand at Photoshop to color and fix up. I like the results, especially for my second try at the program. I never realized how difficult it was to make metal appear like metal in photoshop.

don't say this much, and honestly don't get offended, but i guess he looks cute for a mech(slowly looks around the room, sees no other men heard his comment, exhales slowly, another day of manhood secure)but yeah it does look good, but it gives off a friendly vibe or something

spend a little more time on working on the image itself, and not so much on obtrusively branding your name on it's forearm. if ever you'll need to put a nice big signature on your work, people will already know the work is yours. in the mean time, work towards that.

still, not bad for second photoshop. focus on the basics.

Haven't really much experience to go off of when it comes to photoshop 5, so any hints or tips would be nice.

As for working on the image itself, what would I have to do? Add some more details to the metal? Or is it in the mostly flat coloration? I admit that it needs some work in that department.

And how on earth do you make metal look like metal on photoshop 5? That color dodge and burn tool only goes so far with me. ;)

Thanks for the critiques.

Maybe this should really be called a toy? :D
