First post here but I've always enjoyed this forum so I thought I'd toss a few in the board. These are works that I put in the Junk folder of the Studio Yume website (my site).

These are a few of the early drawings (charcoal, and their huge too, like 24 by 36 or something) from my figure drawing class. I have tons of sketches from that class but my newest work is still at school. I just keep the big ol' sketchpad there. These are more about line and proportion than value. I'm not to good at it but as you'll see from stuff I'll post later (the stuff I'm doing now) I'm getting better at it. Still a fun and informative class.

These are just a couple of pages from my sketchbook that I thought might be neat to put on my website. There are tons of different things in here too. Some are sketches of people I saw walking or sitting in the hallway, others just doodles, some are things I planned on finishing but didn't. Oh well. I know the proportions are off on some of 'em but that's what makes them rough and sketchy, right? LoL I dunno. I like to see other artists rough stuff. It inspires me.

Comments are always appreciated. Take care and thanks for looking.

welp...whatever it is you're learning in figure class doesnt really show in your doodles.

because they're rough sketches i think it's especially important that they are correctly built, if not correctly proportioned. fundamentals, that's all.

have fun, and work hard!

Yeah, I'm completely new to figure drawing so that may explain something. But things are slowly progressing and I'm getting a better grasp on things as the semester moves on. Any hints or ideas on how to improve? I'm still trying to sight correctly and all that good stuff. It's a big change for me. I seldom ever drew from life and now I'm trying to more frequently. It's fun though! It's great to learn more about it and I'm really enjoying myself too. Thanks for the post.

No more posts? Eh, that sucks. Thanks anyhow.
