Practice painting, I got about halfway through, but something seems off to me. Feedback appreciated.

Hi Roeguard, I'm not a great artist like some of you people on here, but it looks to me like the elbow is a bit disjointed. I think playing around with the shading some will bring it together. Right now it looks like the forearm is too long and it doesn't connect to the elbow. Maybe try lengthening the shading at the bottom of the elbow. Other than that, I think it is a wonderful painting.

it's the anatomy. if u look at how she's posed, her right arm (elbow) ought to be visible behind her, because of the way she is holding the gun. she would have to bend it close to her body in order to reasonably support it and pull the trigger. try the pose yourself, that always works for me.

Well, I think I got the near elbow fixed.

I see what you mean about the far elbow too. That should be easy enough... I think. Heheh, imagining little tiny arm behind her.

Ok, arm added. Looks better.

Hello. I guess all the main critiques have been pointed out. Just wanted to say that I love the head, she's really cute! Lookin forward to more updates ;)

Color and lighting looking fine - especialy goggles and bluescreen.
I still have trouble with HER right elbow - If shes holding that (heavy) gun, the shoulder should drop, and drop forward, then the upperarm would tilt -> \ that direction and the elbow would be a good bit higher.
Thats my 1skr, looking forward to more :D

nice work!! i like the overall feel of your picture, but it seemed kinda static. so i hope you don't mind, but i took the liberties of doing a sort of paintover to show you what i was thinking... basically trying to make it more dynamic. so i just put some redlines over to show you how to give it some juice. thanks a lot and keep up the good work! awesome.

i agree with Harlock and Johannes. I of course imagined the gone to be weightless...:D
keep it up, and make the change harlock's saying! sweet!

Kewlies! Thanks for the input. I'm not sure I'll be able to make all the changes Harlock suggested without starting over from scratch, but I love the idea. Definetely more dynamic.

Things I will incorporate into my next venture:
More Dynamic Pose
Better weight and balance

Seems like those are the 2 things needing the most attention.

And thanks for the drawover Harlock! It helps me to understand what you're seeing.
