This one began as a speed painting to music, miles Davis Bithces Brew disk 2. the music guided all the preliminary strokes and color choices, and I tired to let my subscounsious fill in the shapes until it started to read as an object. I projected my likeness onto the chaotic forms. by that time I realized the music had stoped and I had been working on it longer than the speedpaint time boundaries. so I continued to work on it longer and use it for tadays portrait.

lots of dry inkbrush
chalk tool
grainy water
glow brush.

now let me explain please calm down. jeez.
"i wont calm down!"
are you done?
...
"sorry.."
...
okay, where was i? .. uhyeah android.
no i dont think this one sucks (by any means there is still some cool stuff in it), i just dont like the piece that much physically. what i do like very, very much is the concept behind it - drawing with music. that .. is cool.

... "whatever, you are a moron"

"...and from the dieing stars emerges creation, burning in all its glory. Let us find our way by it's guiding light, for we are only poor followers in a disarrayed world..."

I am a follower... Great work.

I dunno Killing, while I agree, it's not Jones' tightest piece, sometimes IT IS the concept that makes a piece good or not, I think this piece is aweosme, I get a great sense of movement from it, and for some reason it makes me think of the winter, when I was a kid I would breath the crisp air and look at the night sky. If I can gather that much from a piece...it's kick ass in my book

wow

once we are stuck in the rhythm of seeing your face daily in a similar kind of general approach, you make a 180-turn in just the right moment :)

this piece tells me something, you know what?

Wild colors, Andrew... really nice.

I'm curious to see what you'd paint while listening to Agharta

great work, android. you've inspired me. i went to the store yesterday, and bought myself a handheld mirror... you know the kind with the pearl handle? yah, well, it's pretty feminine, but it's big, square, and can actually fit the reflection of my melon in it, which is substantial. i'm gonna go home and start my 1 a day now.

big fat kudos to you.

i like the idea of the skeleton being torn away instead of the face/skin - interesting juxtaposition :) the "hair" is really neat too - amazingly motive - you never cease to amaze :)
