Ma Ying-Jeou just won the Taiwanese election, and the KMT has a majority in the legislature now. I'm not entirely sure how I feel about it or who I would've supported, since I can't vote, but my parents are happy about it. Hopefully this will lead to better relations to China. I think many people were just tired of the DPP getting on everyone's nerves, ha ha.

What do you think about it?

you'd have a bit more luck with this topic if you'd included "WARNING - NUDITY - UNSAFE FOR OFFICE VIEWING" in the title.

:)

But yeah, great news if you're in Taiwan, or you have folks living back there.
Their proximity to China is a worry, if you ask me, if only they could weigh anchor and drift south east a few thousand miles - if I was the president I would be currying favour with the other growing economies in the region.

The other guy was awful provocative. If you try to punk the mainland with a lot of rhetoric and bluffs, and calling of bluffs, they will overreact from what I've seen.

I think that with time the mainland will become more mainstream economically and then relations can be normalized. I just wish the PRC could get past this overbearing attitude they have about human rights. (Not that the U.S. has a spotless record or anything).
