Heres a new low poly model im working on for my portfolio. I cropped the concept because the anatomy is horrible. so far its 420 polys in an hour of work. trying to keep it under 3k polys

mhh 1400? Looks like 800, to be honest. Could you post a wireframe/flat-shaded wire render of the model?
looking forward to see more progress

heres the wireframe so far. its under 6 hours of work so areas can be optimized and fixed. 2610 polygons so far.

2610 polygons? way to much for that amount of detail, but thats not the biggest problem, you definately need to learn more about proportions and character dynamic... he's looking really stiff and bulky (right word??)

ok, well im still working on it. got most of the body modelled at 2914 polys (triangles), but still have to add\fix some things. i think thats a pretty good polygon count but like i said before still optimizing. That usually comes at the end for me (9 hours modeling time)
Unless im understanding you wrong, the stiffness is because it isnt posed yet. you dont get character dynamic from the initial pose before you put the bones in. As for proportion, i think it looks pretty decent so far, is there anything you can point out so i can fix it up? The character is a bit bulky even from the concept sketch, but thats part of the suit design, again is there something specific you can tell me?
thanks for the crits.

Not bad at all, if you can get him to pose for a kind of.... position like holding something it may give some idea of how he will move and besides make him look less bulky and stiff.
