thanks guys, this one is definately one of my new favorites.
I had been very ill all last week, i made this portrait after my recovery.
Jason has been helping me alot with my colors and half tone transitions too.

i'm really liken this one too android.... its very sculptural...
i think you could pay more attention to the shadows in the eye sockets though, the red in there is too strong, i think it needs to blend in more.
keep experimenting with that palette knife because you're startin to get awesome results!

ok, so he is using a palette knife to create this kind of effect? i am just not sure how this all works. what category is this kind of brush/knife under?
i am so inexperienced with painter.

what a wonderful piece.
the sculptural feel is rich...and its shard and detailed while still soft and suttle.
the line-work is eye-candy, and the tonal is genuis.
only crits (if you can crit a sketch) is that the right side looks a little flat .. blending the far cheek and forhead into the shadows would have been cool.
as always, an inspiration
