This time I tried something different, which I hadn't done before. I took a friend's drawing and turned it into a painting. His name is Luís Miguel Santos and he has some great work over at:

Go check it out!

Idiot of me to not read your description, my eyes zapped over to the drawing right away and I'm thinking: "Well, this is different for him" ^^; I've liked your work for a while now.

Now that I have that sorted, I do love your treatment of his drawing mood and color wise. I am not fond of it much anatomically as it appears a bit stiff for something partially serpentine. I'm trying to imagine him in action, fluid, something not to be effed with and I don't get that from this pose much. Again, not much of your control I know.

Your friend's gallery is really varied and interesting as well.

Good work on the scales! You gave them a nice colorful, 3D feel. Your use of lighting always impresses. Nice that the initial drawing was fairly detailed.

Excellent treatment of color.

Though you did not make the original drawing, I feel that you could have in fact taken some artistic liberty in correcting the anatomy (particularly the hands and the abnormally flat abdominal region).

Still, keeping the original drawing intact is quite an impressive feat. Well done.
