Hi all,
Looking for a good Game Design school...read that SCAD and Ringling both have them...anyone know how good their programs are and how competitive it is to get in? Also any other good schools that have these programs?
Thanks for your help!

Ringling's is better and significantly harder to get into. SCAD accepts nearly everyone; GAD at Ringling has about a 25% acceptance rate and, assuming it has the same attrition rate as Computer Animation, more than half of the students will drop out due to the workload.

Ringling's is better
*snerk* So...that means you've done the program at both Ringling and SCAD? :) Let's go more what you experienced and less with blanket statements, yo.
SCAD is not hard to get into--it's hard to stay in. Personally, I like that philosophy since it means that almost anyone who wants to learn gets a chance to--but let's be real, the school is a business and I'm sure it's all about the money. I didn't know anyone in that department, but I can tell you that the peripheral depts (animation, seqa art) were tough and I can only imagine the same for GD. Since you're looking at schools that are relatively close together, perhaps you should do a tour-of-schools and check them out for yourself. :)
