I know that most people want to end up as concepters and designers for movie and video games but after this is there other career illustrator can go for that as high demand for people with strenght in this field ? Like in trad animation I know there is a lot of tv show playing, in 3d animation there is a lot of 3d game and movies. And I heard that most of the time illustrator ends up freelancing ? I often have to counsel students as to what career paths they need to pursue as they approach graduation. These are just some of the career options available, but I also ask the student to look at themselves and see where they fit within the business. Do the research on a business model- see where and how their skills are applicable.

Just as a person goes into an art school based upon their passion to draw- they still need to approach the work force the same way.

hmm I see. The thing I like in animations is that it offer solid structure or at least this is what I think. Strong foundation in anatomy and perspective I dont know for colour but I know they do paint and with additionnal things to learn like storyboard etc. those are pretty good skills for a later art direction career since you learn those stuff before
