building a portfolio

i've begun to realise that i can make 3 times as much money than i can make at my regular job , well so far i've done a course in graphic which i must say was absolutely a waste of my money cuz i didn't learn anything new but still good for getting the certificate and sum cool clients for freelance work.

right now i plan on making a portfolio so i can get more clients and possibly a job in this career and also make more money so i can go to college and study art and other stuff.

but anyway what do you think makes a good portfolio
