I need some imput about this piece. I wanted to make a starry-cloudy background for the image, but what I've got so far doesn't seem to have enough depth to it. It looks too flat.
I'm using Photoshop 5.0, so, if anyone out there can offer some suggestions, it would be much appreciated.

There isnt enough difference in the values in the background to make it deep. Try pushing the extremes out a little more. High Key values (towards white) and warm colors come forward, and Low key values (towards black) and cool colors move back.
If you're looking to keep the background the same cool blues and tie it all together to be monochromatic in that way, you're going to have to push the darks more towards black. Doesnt mean they have to be black, but they have to be darker than the front of the background. If you dont want to push the sky back, try pulling the clouds forward.
Same goes for the rest of the image too. Depth takes contrast of some sort to push backwards and forwards.
Sorry if i overexplained. Hope it helps.
