is this worth buying? it's $6.79 on ebay...

i'm a first time painter and looking to buy some gouache. would this be a good starter set or should i just buy individual tubes of a more expensive brand? see the item here (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2348372821&category=11785)

also how about these Brushes (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2349568070&category=28113) worth that price? thanks a bunch!

I have soem royal brushes that I use for my water soluable oils.. Theyre really really cheap. If youre looking for good brushes you get what you pay for.. they work, but the handles are halling apart, etc..

save your money, both products are bad. wait til you see some good winsornewton paints. and those handles don't look too tight on the brushes, too much water dipping and i think the hairs will fall out.

I would advise against these as well. Cheap brushes leave hairs on your surface. Unless they are high quality, I wouldn't buy any brushes online that I wasn't sure of the quality of. You will thank yourself in the long run. It may be an investment to get your art supplies, but this pays off with diligence and using the materials.

thanks a lot for saving me time and money. nothing worse than getting something and finding out it's crap. i guess i'll be hitting up DickBlick for some W&N Gouache and some W&N Oils since both seem to coming highly recommended. and i'll be sure to check out those trekell brushes. oh and sable or taklon or bristle? i'm thinking sables are the best?
