View Full Version : Tips on using gummed tape

I bought a roll of gummed tape to use when I'm doing watercolour pieces. I used it when I stretched the paper, but it left some reside on the edges after the paper had dried. That wasn't a problem to remove; I just used some damp cotton balls and carefully rubbed it off. However, I want to use the tape again when I'm ready to paint (to secure it on to the table) and I'd like to avoid going through the whole mess with bits of the tape being left behind.

Do you have any tips on how to avoid that? Both when stretching the paper and after the work is complete?

Thanks in advance.

Just cut the edges off after. Much faster. Just use a little wider edges when you're doing it so you don't go too far into your pic.

Yup, that does sound like the quick and easy way out. :D Thanks!
