I love the painting. Yet part of me says it's a bit too dark, and the rest says it's just right.

Anatomy seems quite solid - great stuff!
I agree with took on the lighting of the last painting; when I first looked at it, I was certain it was too dark, but after a bit, I didn't think so. Weird. The background seems a little too light directly behind his head, compared to the rest. Maybe he could use some more of the orange light on the face, since the orange wing-thing is the only visible light source.

Saw it on another monitor and it was really dark. Just lighned it a bit.
Still thinking about working more on it. I defenitly change the too light space behind his head.. ( or make the other siede lighter ;°)

i was just about to suggest lightening the first one up a bit, then scrolled down, really great colors and depth, but like you said, i think it could do with even more contrast, either darken the back of the head, or completely seperate it from the background.
but who am i to crit this great painting?

those are what's required to "judge" and judgement isn't always constructive criticism (even if it does give a first impression by a regular joe)
