Ok, so, having taken on board everything everyone has said.. Ive began to look more closely at what im trying to paint. Ive always had trouble with simulating hair, no matter what medium i've used, so heres an attempt at working on it... Nothing like diving in to the deep end eh.... :D

These look great! A lot of detail and really vibrant colours! One thing I think you could change a little is to try and define a more crisp edge, especially around the flower, because the vauge edge give an impression like an out of focas photograph.

I can't beleive that these are your first peices on photoshop. Great job.

Hey Anthony, your paintings are really good for your first ones. Your values are looking a little bit smudged together and too blended. But I'm no painting expert at all, so instead I've got a (very) useful link for you :P

Hellooo..

Just thought i'd make you look a bit more popular lol :P

You need to start drawing faces.. They're much harder :D

I like the elephants the most.. You should finish them off.... And then move onto portraiture

Leave the woman for now lol

nice start, keep up w/ all the studies, do more drawings from life and also do some anatomy studies. in your paintings try to push your values more to bring out the contrast in the images. i'd also like to see those elephants finished off they are looking very promising. keep it up.

Do more life studies, very fast ones. Spend 2-5 minutes on each, at most, and do a shit ton of them.

You'll love it.

Thanks for dropping in on my sb. You look like you could be using more hard edged brushes. It keeps everything from looking so smudged. The human eye in post 15 has very nice colours.
