Okay, so we just finished LotM (I'm to lazy to re-type) and yeah...

I reallyreallyreallyreally liked the first half, up until they surrender the fort, but after that...

Not really.

Alice and Duncans deaths seemed so... pointless. Like the screenwriters didn't know what to do with them, so they went 'Mmkay, letz kielll them all!'
In the books they survived, Cora actually dies. I actually was expecting Alice and Duncan to end up togather before I saw the end (in the book they do) but... agh

And I think the big reason why I'm grouching about this, is cause... Duncan's death freaked me out.
My greatest fear is burning to death, and yeah... that was way to graphic for me... I still feel sick to stomach even thinking about it.

So anyways, anyone else watch this movie? Agree, disagree?

I absolutely loved it, Michael Manns best effort by a mile.

Not exactly a party movie though, with the whole "everyone dies" thing.

I love this movie and have seen it a ridiculous amount of times. I didn't read the book before I saw the movie, so the changes didn't bother me. I did partially read it later and saw many changes, but that is how it goes in so many book-to-film cases.
I also have to say that I live about 20 minutes from where they filmed the final scene in the movie (Chimney Rock SP). I drive by the bottom of that mountain everyday on my way to and from work and have been on that rocky trail many times. Being the supergeek that I am, I point out landmarks to my friends on that trail and tell them which scenes were filmed there. :)
Great film and love the soundtrack as well.

I personally would have been unable to resist the urge to run up that trail shooting at imaginary people, with the soundtrack blasting on my mp3 player.

HA! Who's to say I haven't done that very thing? Or at least something very close along those lines, minus the mp3 player.:bashful:
