i'd love to see it with more clarity, most noteably on the bottom figure and down.

I like it, but its little too much dark. And legs of crouching one are bad drown.

Beautiful lighting on the standing/streching character, but the crouching one seems to be lost in darkness.

Looks real cool and evil, lovecraft style evil
I egree with the above - a little to dark, and the bottom figure is maybe a bit to unfocused
keep up the good work :)

Reminds me of some kind of alien version of 2001 (when the monkeys figure out how to use tools) like someone else said ..needs to be sharpened up in places ..particularly the crouching creature

I like the dark feel, but you need to really bring up those highlights for contrast. For example, I think the highlight on the crouched figure is about the right value for all the lit planes, and then do something brighter for the hotspots.

Not knowing what is going on doesn't bother me. Lets me use my imagination to fill in the details; saves you the trouble.

Here is my second and final (for now) attempt at salvaging this piece. I need a nice break from it.

I really like the lighting... I think the blurry parts are cool. They create a sort of depth-of-field look. Too bad I didn't find this earlier, cause frankly I liked the darkness. I don't know what it is with people and their dislike for dark pics, but I think it looks cool. Maybe ya'll should up the brightness of your monitors just a tad. Nice style too. Really, I like both versions, and a rock eating creature is always cool. Keep at it. Peace

ooww.. looks cool...

Don't be afraid of edge relationships. Watch the contrast of soft and harder edges.

thanks for sharring,

My only comment would be that it needs a few more textures. It's all so very slick at the moment. Don't be afraid to let something get a bit gritty.

I really like the colors! The creatures are a neat concept as well. :)

Second version is much better. Good lighting, interesting character design - if a bit stumpy on the legs. I agree with many that the blurry areas are to obvious. Watch the edge control - use the blur more intentionally and it can work for you...

Very very good work. My only thought is that the composition could be helped by cropping a small amount off the right side so there isn't so much dead space.

Looks kind of like the child between an alien (xenomorph from the movies, Alien) and sectoid...
Cool

I have to say I like the first image better.

Don't start cropping this thing! Dead space. Yeah right. Like they don;t need to breathe... (no offense) :-D

I like the right figure in the second post, but the left figure has become too bright now -- there would likely be more shadow on his chest and stomach. The head can be a little brighter so we can see he's eating rocks.

This is a really neat piece!

I think that the legs are just a little too blurry, and I think that the hands of the crouching figure should be clearer and more in focus.

Keep it up! Very original concept.
