OK so this is going to be my scrap book. I'll try to keep this up dated as much as possible, I promise. As with all the usual stuff that comes with having one of these C & C are welcome and expected :)

This is my first drawing I have done in quite some time. There is bits on it I dont like (isn't there always?) and I missed out the tail. Mainly due to the fact I'm not confident doing it and I was scared it would ruin what I think to be a damn good first image in almost 5 years of not drawing.

I'm sorry for the crap photo (camera phones, what can you do?) but I should be able to get hold of a scanner and put up a crisper version. I'll also put up some 1, 2 & 3 point perspective stuff I was doing as well

well for after 5 years of not drawing it looks pretty good. i'd suggest doing some anatomy studies because some of the proportions on him are off. also try to use more longer flowing lines. it will help keep the image cleaner, is easier to cover larger areas with. and doesn't have the sketchy look to it. also work more on the contrast and values, to help the figure stand out more and have more life to it. now lets just see more drawings.

Hey man, keep up the good work.

On your perspective studies, your vanishing points are too close together for the picture plane. if you notice, some of the corners on your boxes, instead of looking 90 degrees, look to be at a much narrower angle.

There are ways to calculate it out so you don't get distortion, but I found it easier to just experiment. The bigger the box (or the closer the view is to it), the wider your perspective lines would have to be to avoid distortion. umm.. I hope I make sense. :)

I picked up a pretty cool book on perspective yesterday. I used to own it, lent it out, never got it back, and just found another copy. :)

Perspective! for the comic book artist (http://www.amazon.com/Perspective-Comic-Book-Artists-Professional/dp/0823005674)

It's written as a comic, and goes from basic to pretty advanced. :)

Also, I highly recommend attaching your images to the thread so peopel don't have to click the thumbnails to view them. just click the little paper clip while writing a post to open the attachment manager.

Keep up the good work! :)

Hey man thanks for that :) Yeah I know my perspectives look wonky but I think I got the basics :)
