It does look visually IMPRESSIVE and the story seems interesting.

I like his description of the heroes though...

"The Indian, the Ex-Slave, the explosives expert, and Charles Darwin"...

yeah that got a giggle out of me too , i think they were to get at the happhazzardness..the "Im making it up as i go along" aspect of the tale within the film.....it also smacks of spike jones' sense of humor..

Speaking of wich, spike jones and david fincher ,could not be more different, yet that dichotomy makes so much sense as well... in a film with 2 worlds...how cool.

it also reminds me of "baron von munchousen" as far as the premise anyway. even the archetypes of the adventurers in the story within the story.
