Robolus: Hey Marko, by the way, how much will your workshop cost?

Marko: 50 Euro!

Robolus:  50 Euro? You mean 500 Euro!

Marko: No, just 50 Euro!

Guys and girls, YOU HAVE TO COME!:chug:

Marko is basically giving it away, I wish I was in Germany...

hmmm... I wonder how long it would take to drive frome Copenhagen to Cologne. Cause the flight from Iceland to Denmark (and back) is like 230 euros.

I would love to attend this workshop. I have to come up with a plan.

Marko rocks :)

Wow!

Great to see so much feedback!
So far we're planning to do the workshop 1.-2. november in Colonge/Germany. We're currently managing some places where you people could stay over the weekend.

The workshop would include life-drawing classes, serious anatomy classes and composition classes. We have already about 20 people attending, which is more than Robby and I imagined, when he called me up with the idea of it this morning.
So everything is in the planning phase still, but we'll keep ya posted on this thread!

Kortez, if you reeee-aallyyyy manage to come down from Iceland to Cologne, you can attend for free. So much ambition must be rewarded!

So everyone who wants to attend seriously, please drop me a line over e-mail, so I can start managing things and put a newsgroup together.
My e-mail adress is: marko@djurdjevic.de

Stay tuned!

But otherwise - I think I'll have to go by train, it takes 6 hours... we'll see, it's a good offer.

Guys!

Resonance for the workshop is great, we get more and more participants and I'm just managing a place for you all, where you can stay over the weekend.
I also managed to book a life-model yesterday, which will assist in the life-drawing classes.

So far the workshop will include the following classes:
-life drawing
-value studies
-anatomy classes
-design classes
-composition
-portfolio reviews

Please, all of you who want to sign in, drop me an e-mail until Oct.5th! This is the last date to sign in!

Cheers

When you say "stay" do you mean like a place to sleep (like a youth hostel or something)? How much would that cost?

Thank you very much. I'm talking this through with my parents and they're not half as pessimistic as I would have thought. :)

Kortez: Some of the other participants will sleep at a youth hostal. There are two really good ones in Cologne. One night will cost about 20 Euro. If you would come by plane or by train I could manage to drive you from the airport or train station to the hostal, so that you would have no problems with the language if you like!

I have a really tough decision ahead of me, Marko's workshop or Feng's DVD's

at the moment i'm going with the workshop and pray that I get some of the DVDs for christmas :)

But I'll have to rake in some extra cash if I want to go to Germany, and working weekends is out of the question cause I'm competing most weekends. :(

YEAH!

Thanks to all the people who attended to the first workshop in Cologne and made it so successful.
I can proudly announce that the next workshop is already in the planing phase and will be held in Berlin/Germany early in january.

This time I will be supported by notorius Andrew Jones and Mr. Jason Manley himself and the workshop will take 4 full days of learning, drawing and painting.

We're currently organizing the whole baby and will have serious info for you by the end of next week. So everyone who missed out this first workshop, prepare for the next big event ;)

Glad to hear that there is another event in front of us...
I asked the same question in another Thread:
Is there any "artistical skill level" that you assume us to have? I absolutely want to join, even more, since i had no serious art-education except for what i have learnt in this forums. But i don't want to "waste money" for bugging others with newbie-questions and not getting anything right just because i simply need other basic skills before joining this workshop.

Thanks for an answer!

i´d be highly interested in an acrylics painting demo, especially to see what techniques and brushes make for the best results when painting wet on wet and when developing the painting through washes.

really just a demo regarding techniques to get smooth blending and stuff.

any thoughts on that?

I would love to go, the train to berlin from my hometown is only 82 euro, not that expensive really. Anyhow, i have some questions.

Q1. My german is really kaputt, is there any point in me going or would it be a waste of money?

Q2. Will we consume large amounts of alcohol after class?

Q3. Where do i sleep?

@Marko
I'd like to know if you assume as a basic-skill-level to join. I know that you can't say "67pts. in drawing, 87pts. in painting and 78pts in composition, etc." though maybe this is a stupid question. But i guess you can still say if you'd recommend it, to join if one (in fact: me) did not have any artistic education so far, except for what i learnt in these forums (progress thread).
I would be _really_ glad to hear something about this issue... I don't want to be a brake for all of you as well as i don't want to waste my money on something i'm simply not yet ready for...
weird. I hope you understand what i mean. :)

Thanks!

Registration form is to be sent back to my e-mail adress: marko@djurdjevic.de
You'll get a notification afterwards, that we recieved the registration.
Yeah, and jpg is ok as long as you can keep it below 500kb.
I'll post schedule stuff soon, for now know, that the workshop is going 8 hours every day, from thursday to sunday.

antihero:

During the last workshop we had a multitude of different skill-levels and all the attendants were excited of having learned a ton during the two days. There is no skill-level you'll have to come up with, but you need the excitement and ambition to learn.
Maybe some of the people who did attend to the first workshop can post about their expierence with the differnet skill-levels and make sure, you don't waste your money.

Cheers

A certificate for participating at the workshop will be given to every attendand as well. You also get a lunch a day;)

-W.-: Yes there is still a place and yes, a bill will be given if you need one for the tax.
Take all drawing and sketching materials with you, that you feel comfortable with. If you want to take stuff with you, that you still want to learn, do so, and ask during the WS. We will give answers best we can.

Skank: Good idea, already in planning

Cassandra: What? Get your ass on a plane and come over. You can have Larp sessions every other day, but this workshop will be unique for now. And the fun of learning something will be greater than jumping through the woods. See, Jaku already signed up, so he will be coming. Why don't you come over with him?

antihero:
Location is:

Jugendherberge "Am Wannsee"
Badeweg 1

Marko, to answer your question:

The next days will be like a battle in myself. On the one hand i ever wanted to see Andrew and/or Jason in real (actually once i had a dream where i met Andrew while something like a workshop  ), and i probably would enjoy the workshop, to see all the artists/members in real coming from all over the world...

On the other hand my financial situation is not the best currently and if i would come it would be a pity to stay just for one day, which doesn't make the whole thing easier...

So, i really don't know yet....the fight goes on...5 days to think about i guess...or what's the deadline? 20th december as i read on the form...

maybe this will halp - whenever i have your problem Fozzy i remember a saying of my father:

You'll never remember tha ammount of money you had at a certain point - but always remember their benefit.

I'll say - try something. You'll have better days and you'll make the money back somehow. There is always a balance. It's hard to have both - your dream and your muny ;)
And is best not to regret it - if someone gives you some money right the next day.. you'll kill yourself :D
so.. i'll ask Jason and Andrew how you did at the workshop, ok ?

My parents won't give me an answer until they see my school grades (18th of dec)... if they say no I'm totally gonna grow up to be a bum, live at home 'til I'm 40 and totally live off them until they kick me out... I need to go to this workshop.

I just hope it won't be ful by the time they see my grades :(

damn I'd like to go (not sure if I got time collage architecture got test first week back, preliminary design presentation 2nd week!), and flights from Standsted London to Berlin on ryanair ( http://www.ryanair.co.uk )are only £0.01 each way (going 8th Berlin at 9:00am back 11th Stansted 23:00 ) plus taxes of 13 which makes it only £26 so if anyone from around London is going I'd look at that..... not sure how long it will last though.

Marko check your PM and email.
I need international data of your account (IBAN CODE and SWIFT CODE) to do the payment.
I think anyone inside CE (not german) need this data.

Why is it so damn difficult to simply transfer money within the EU???

Crazy banks always after making a buck out of people's trouble... Fight the system!

Marko, could you e-mail me your address so i can send money through Western Union?

Jason Manley wrote on December 31st, 2003 04:13 PM:
understood.

i am having the same problem with marko...no returned emails or pm's at all. I hope he is ok. It has been some time since i heard from him. I know he too was having health problems.

it will all be taken care of. I will find out more info and get back to you.

no worries.

It will most likely be moved. Andrew and I should have handled it all the entire time.

if Jason or Andrew have any info, please tell us...

Erik

O_o ! thanx for the info!

I hope Marko is ok! I also hope the workshop can continue!

Any info will be appreciated. If it's moved or canceled i can try to get my tickets refunded by the train company, but this will obviously have less and less of a chance if i wait too long with trying ... and they're not that cheap... :-/

Happy newyear all

Hmm...
I'll be going t berlin anyways (my ticke5ts wont be refunded), if the workshop cannot continue i'll just change the topic to "life-drawing-weekend"... That would be ok, though a workshop would still be a thousand times better... :(
Anyways, i hope marko is ok.

My ticket probably won't be refunded too -- if the workshop gets canceled maybe we can meet up in Berlin and have some beers and stuff -- and draw of course!

i just got mail from marko (as probably everyone who contacted him concerning the workshop) that berlin is officially cancelled due to too low number of participants. i'll let details etcetera to marko, if he decides to post here.

i just thought ill let you guys know it asap, so you may have a chance at ticket refunding.

:(

Got the email as well... as i wrote. I've got no chance to get a refund... So i'll be in berlin anyways.

Anyone else there to (as R_M wrote) draw some, drink some and meet some new faces...?

antihero

PS: I do understand that they canceled the thing but i do not understand why nobody could spread this information a bit earlier... Plus i think that i would have been better to announce the workshop earlier because the definitive information was very late, a fact that surely influenced the number of subsriptions... :(

I'll let you know if i come to Berlin monday morning as soon as i know what the train company says...

Perhaps we can arrange an alternative workshop? In some cheap location with just the few people that are coming?

hm... that's sad
anyway I think there is no chance to change this fact.

@Robby #1, Robby #2, Marc, Joseph and all the other guys

It's sad we cannot meet in Berlin, but I hope there will be some way to meet again in future. :chug:

Sorry to hear about the cancellation...

i wanted to go so badly, and if it wasn't for some money issues that arisen i would've definately signed up to attend...

Hopefully sometime in the future...

hey, admins...i think antihero deserves a title after this occasion!

He's a real antihero now!

Visit the zoo over there anti! The hippo enclosure is amazing! Don't pay extra money for the aquarium though, it's not worth it ;)

My girlfriend says that you should go to a Fruhstuck cafe on sunday morning - there is unlimited food there and it';s a lot of fun meeting people. and there are nice bars near Friedrichstrasse. But i've never been there myself ...

Good luck and i think you should have your title antihero

We are in the works for a rescheduling of and Official Conceptart.org European workshop. Any persons that did not recieve notice from Marko in a timely fashion in order to get refunds for airfare will recieve tuition in order to cover the difference in expenses. Andrew and I apologise and want to do our best to have an amazing time with you. We are going to be handling all this personally. It will be awesome!

I have spoken with Puddnhead Kevin Llewellyn
( www.puddnhead.com , www.kevart.com ) and he has confirmed his position as an instructor along with Andrew Jones and myself. We are also inviting another secret guest artist. you know him and love him. once i have his answer I will announce it. I personally guarantee this will be an absolutely amazing art experience for everyone.

I am meeting with andrew tonight and we will announce the curriculum and more information shortly.

again, our sincerest apologies for any inconvenience. we will be having a much improved and fantastic workshop very shortly.

We have three cities we are considering as "top of the list" for locations.

1 Amsterdam (Erik has kindly offered his assistance with this location)
2 Paris
3 Prague

please feel free to give any input on what you all would like to see happen or on the locations. I will make a new thread with all this information once all details are together this evening. one of the days will be spent drawing and analyzing the masterworks of the great museums....at least that is one of the ideas we are looking at. any thoughts?

we would like to do this within the next 45-90 days...allowing plenty of time for planning and guarantees. any input on appropriate dates would be appreciated....holidays, school breaks, etc...being considered as good dates for making time for art. :)

questions and input can be posted here. Please post all relevant discussion in the new thread below. Thank ya!
