all right! first group to use the new topic! :p good luck!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
topic 8
player 1 (Rockhart): the failing light of battle
A- you battle fatigue, your nuckels are raw and bloodied, but the day is yours.
B- slumping in the cold the frost takes hold, your muscles tighten as the chill seeps deep into your flesh.
player 2 (Mythril Golem) : making camp
A - As the amber red sun sinks through the clouds you and your bretheren have made camp atop the battle summit.
B - you awaken on a dead battlefield, you must have been knocked out cold or stunned for the majority of the carnage, all you can hear now are the moans of the half dead. you stand up slowly, alive but shamed.

ok while were waiting for this to be judged how about we crit eachothers work?
I really like the colors in your piece. the background needs some work... the sun looks like an oval :P your guy ont the lower left corner is really well done except I'd give him some more drastic shading. the guy standing on the edge is a little blurry to me and probably should have some shadow on his back and a shadow on the ground. the fire and smoke could use some work too... But all in all it's a good piece and it captures the topic really well. Ok Crit mine!

well okay then, i think your characters head needs work. his face is turned to the left but the back of his head looks like he's facing forward. his features are minimal and anatomically incorrect. the shading is very light and honestly i prefer the sketch to the end product. i wish you'd put more work into your pics but as you said of mine, your pic follows the brief.
i agree that the rocks are a bit sucky but i was pleased with the sun even if it does look oval to you :). i think my pic is a failing mish mash of styles and there's a lot wrong with the anatomy depth etc but i didn't want to work on it anymore.

yeah i know..... :( but i find it hard to add color. my scanner isn't the best and whenever i try to scan a color pic it doesn't come out right...
anyways thaks for the judging and thank you Mythril golem for the duel and honest critique.

i think there are a few free programs, like artrage, you could use if you wanted to try out digital painting. just google it.
and no problem about the crit/duel.

yeah i get it, i was using a mouse for a year and everything was slooow -_-. maybe you should start off with a small tablet, something cheap because you might find that you don't really like digital. artrage is free btw.
