Square one... where to start?

Hello, CA. I'm new around here. I really enjoy drawing, but my artwork is usually not even close to par.

Can somebody give me some helpful advice on where to start? Any recommendations would be much appreciated.

Go to the digital painting thread in the photoshop forum on here, or wander around and look for certain things you want to learn. Or you can just ask or a certain technique that you want to learn instead of where you should start. I would recomend starting with doing the basic shapes and color basics until you got that down, then go higher and higher with more challenges until you die. Also you can compete in some challenges, or start a sketchbook to get some critiques. I think that should help.
