i only wish they would make a middle-earth rpg not based on lotr but the actual world... though who would you get to write the story?

You know I thought that Tolken wrote books and stories about Middle Earth that were after the Lord of the Rings Trilogy. I'm almost positive I'd heard that somewhere. Anyways the game graphics look nice, i wonder how the gameplay is though...

Well he wrote most of it before LOTR and was published after he died by his son. Silmarillion is the most well-known I guess.
Looks alot like Warcraft 3, but War of the Ring looks even more like WC3. Doubt I'll play any of em though.

yes, there're a series called Silmarillion. Huge book about the history of Middle Earth. If you are a tolkien fan, this is a must read. Contains tons of cool visuals. It's a pretty difficult book to read however (not told like a story book, more like a history book)....don't give up after the first few chapters....it gets really good =) Or get them on audio CDs....
the stuff that happens in the three LOTR stories take place in only a few chapters of the Silmarillion.....shows you how big the scope is.
check it out at amazon (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0345306929/ref=pd_sim_books_1/102-0912516-1492907?v=glance&s=books)

Yeh it sure is difficult to read... It's more like reading the bible. Lots n lots of mythology and similar stuff. Once you're on the other end of it though, you never look back. ;)

Yay what spawned Warcraft has its own game now. Might be a buy just to check it out or maybe just a demo.

Id like to see a tolkien RTS, but only if it was done right and done with high quality.. none of those cheap games that arent fun..
an RPG would be awesome as well..
