sigh i have a feel this is going to be a rough topic for most people, just try it at least even if you know you can't pull of something. i suggest giving it an honest shot.

good luck all!

This is my first post to the DSG. Futuristic motorcycle and rider. Keep in mind that in the year 2500 the pollution is so bad that it stunts your growth, making the average person's height around 5'5"

I wasn't going to do this one as I couldn't think of a design, but then I happened to see a story in the newspaper about grayhound racing. :D

I don't have time now to add wheels, but I like the idea so might take it further at a later date.

Cool designs everyone... particularly oDD.

with the gorgeous uniqueness of high wheeled bicycles of the late 1800s, elegance of female horseback riders, the gyroscopic advancements of segway-esque technology, pillowyness of branded ghostdogs, and the plump ass of angelina jolie, here is a retroretroretrospective motorcycle of 2500 (the prequel to atari's 2600 retrocycle)

Awesome stuff everyone. Davi nice update. Odd, it's got a cool look man. Roegard, moops, olsen, all sweet in their own way. Mike nice work as always. Hunger I did some of my best stuff back in math class! Boehmke it looks like we both named the bike after the dsg but I didn't feel like taking it out ;) Harold please keep posting, you rock man. Weird, but you rock. ;) jmascho I'd hate to be behind that thing when the dude backs up. Nice look. Gumdrop you have to add the wheels man, it looks great so far. kgb I think we both had an idea of that overhead thing. I was initially thinking roll bar/cage but then I thought it would make a good place for a monitor.

I usually don't comment but I thought it was a nice turnout today. You guys all inspire me to do better in your own way and I just thought I'd mention it. I know that over time my work will improve and it's because you guys make me want to try harder.

/me puts the beer down.

Anyway, here's mine for tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen, Bicrosoft® proudly introduces the brand new model DSG-213 for 2500.

I'm not done with this...
It's been fun because I've never done highlights like this, but I've always wanted to. It's also been educational, because I've never drawn a motorcycle before. I tried to really look at one I passed while walking the dog. It was one a them Japanese racing types, which this really isn't, but it gave me certain basic forms to think about.

In retrospect, I'm realizing that there's not much that's futuristic about my design... Oh, well. I guess I was focusing so hard on making it look like a motorcycle that I neglected that aspect.

My faves today:
oDD's is just beautiful, nevermind his misgivings.
unknownharold's because of the dog. That should be a tattoo on somebody.
jmascho's says "the future will be pointy", which I agree with.

http://members.fortunecity.com/mykro1/moto2500.jpg Hour and a half. I wanted a hover chopper. Kinda retro, but the way things look, retro is now a staple of design in all times.

Well I had some freetime tonight, so i figured I would do one myself. Looks more like a crotch rocket, but its stretched, and the rider lays on his/her stomach, with arms out in front. (working on illustration now) Bike is jet powered, and all the crazy stuff. Ended up really just wanting to draw a sport bike. About an hour and a half on this. Peace

September 25th, 2003, 04:48 AM
you guys don't reckon wheels will be obsolete by 2500?

OLSEN
September 25th, 2003, 05:18 AM
catterpillar-> No, not really. I think wheels will be around as long as humanity lives on the surface. The things that will change over the next 500 years is how the wheel is moved, it started out with human musclepower, then animals, then combustion, i have no idea what will move the wheel in 2500. The wheel is, after all, a near perfect design.

Unknownharold - Nice design + description. I'm a huge fan of branded ghostdogs. :D

Olsen - I dig your second one... particularly the colours.

Beatnik - Thanks. I may rework it at the weekend it I have time.
