Communication Arts Question

Has anyone submitted any entries to the magazine Communication Arts? I was thinking about submitting some entries but wanted a second opinion from someone who has.

I assume you'te talking about the CA Illustration Annual? I'd say only submit if you really think your stuff is up to par with the work published in past years. I think CA has the smallest ratio of accepted to submitted pieces of any of the major illustration books, and they don't tend to favor F/SF/concept work in general. That said, if you do get in the exposure is great. The few times I've gotten in I've had more response directly traceable to it than any other promo or competition I've done.

Tristan, I found you...now get back to painting!

CA IS hard for SF artists...but as Elwelll says, it's hard for everyone. Rick Berry had a real nice series of paintings in last year. I believe Hale has been in, certainly McKean and Palencar are in regularly. So it's possible.
