WHAT DO YOU WANT ON YOUR CONCEPTART.ORG GOODIES!!!
andrew mocked up some tshirt stuff and also has the new conceptart.org text for you all....we are hoping we can put together some cool stuff from and for you all to help support the site.
we have two slogan ideas courtesy of conceptart.org forum members.
1 DRAW FROM LIFE!
2 TIL DEATH DO US ART!
if ya feel like donating some skillz to help support the site...feel free to drop your ideas for this kinda stuff...if youve got some other ideas...lets hear em!!
we have models chosen to sport your designs with proceeds going toward paying designers to build/finish the new conceptart.org (see the site design sticky in the lounge) as well as continue to help with hosting fees etc...the site is really growing beyond control and in order to make the BEST art forums and art resource on the web we need your help.
if it does well...we may be able to do a weekend workshop in AUSTIN TEXAS and can bring in the top entertainment designers in the industry to help you all with portfolio development, technique, and all the rest.
just some ideas...feel free to drop your own in here peeps.
I know people have been requesting a book of the best of the forums...similar to EXPOSE...we are interested in doing that as well...could even have some tutorials in there...whatcha think?
cheers

what a way to start off the morning. i'm giddy like a school girl. i will sooo be buying a shirt. and a book from everyone at CA??! awesome!!! i'll buy that for a dollar! i think the best idea is a poster from andriod's 365 self portraits. and a t-shirt with kchen or fredflickstone's life drawings with the slogan "draw from life". oh and i want a ball cap and coffee cup too

a jeresy shirt like this: http://storetn.cafepress.com/2/2983412_F_store.jpg
with life drawings on it would be very nice,

i'd be quite fond of a sticker (huge) or a banner or something like that that simply reads slogan no. 1. :)
something you hang in your room and see everyday for the daily kick in the artistic arse.

hmm if we could figure out something wacom related that would be intersting...
gekitsu
September 23rd, 2003, 09:01 AM
like, the wacom intuos2 conceptart series, sporting etched photos on the drawing surface?
the 12x18 comes with either jason or android on them
9x12 will sport a photo of coro with his beagle
6x8 will feature the conceptart logo along with a small group photo of the french daily crew (sparth and bengal)
and the 4x5 will have jasons cat on it

Exactly conceptart logo + slogan 1 sounds cool! With life drawings even better!
But paintings too ... the award winning Megaman redesigns always pop up in my mind ...
I don't know if there are copyright issues though.
Maybe images by the Featured Artists?
And of course Andrew's SP's.
Book? Yes Please! :D

Instead of just the Wacom, how about a picture of a bunch of tools, say... in a fanned out array: wacom pen (in the middle), paintbrush, mechanical pen, marker, charcoal stick... and above it written "Choose Your Weapon" and underneath "Draw From Life".

Why not make all of this the subject for the next thunderdome, the winners gets their stuff printed on the stuff we are going to buy. Jason and the rest of the CA crew gets the cash they need to improve the site in whatever ways they see fit.
(nothing wrong with throwing around ideas for a while in this thread, but a contest would be a good way to get the CA community focused on a common goal.)
That was my first thought when i saw this. I love this, im so going to buy all the cofee cups.

How about a ridiculous, simplistic science fiction drawing
+
"Draw From Life" (as in: "draw from life instead")?
The drawing wouldn't have to be bad ... just stylish stuff instead of eye-candy-material!?

what about "a wanted" shirt or a "Have you seen this man"
With one of Andrews Self Portraits...
Erik

I could not think of many but here goes:
Mug: inside of rim: "Why are you not drawing?"
Mug: "In art it's about who draws first."
T-shirt back: "Would you pose for me?"
"Addicted to pencils"
"My head is filled with crazy shit" or something like that
Maybe not mousepads but somewhat 'sturdier' images that can be put under the transparent sheet on the wacom.
something with anatomy drawings maybe? A Wacom underlay with the most important features of human anatomy? (No, that was not meant to sound that way)

sketchbooks from the pros would be great. Something that only CA.org members know. Like shirts that say "member of the middle class" or "sword pupil now" with a newbie design on the front, "Legendary Hero later" with a pros drawing on the back of the shirt. So when we see a fellow CA member we can point to them and say "Hey!"

I always wanted a conceptart.org "Classic Thong" and "Bib"!
It would be neat if they had computer cases with artwork from here.

It's the best I could come up with
"Just because I'm drawing you doesn't mean I like you!"
"By the time you've read this text... I will already have captured your gesture"
"Support art, kiss this artist" actually saw a bum wearing a t-shirt that had this written on it
(Bumper sticker) "My other car is still just a concept sketch"
I want a clock that says "There's always time for art" or something like that :)
oh and I had already joke around with "I took part in the DSG and all I got was this lousy t-shirt.... and a really, really mean crit :("

I dig the, "DRAW FROM LIFE!" slogan. That would be great on a jersey tee.
And posters! What about posters? Get some of the artists here to donate an artwork to be sold on a poster. Search the "best of" thread for submissions or something.

no offense, but the slogans all sound too corny, i dont know if i'd wear any of those ideas :)
just a Conceptart.org logo would be fine with me, or conceptart.org logo with a collage of the featured artists. something clean and simple.

I agree with that. I'd prefer just a logo instead of a message. Or just a simple drawing.

Hell yeah! I'd wear it! I think these are all great ideas and you can rest assured that as soon as something's available, I'd get it just for having the "Conceptart.org" logo. I think I'd be more inclined to get a mousepad and mug since it's something I could use at work. Travel-mugs would be cool too! Damn, considering how cool these forums have been since the start, we owe you guys.
Would these items be purchasable by credit card or would I need paypal?
...Viva Conceptart!!!!!!! Death to our enemies!!!!!!!

I love the "draw from life!" slogan for a t-shirt.
A wallclock with something like: "You should be drawing now" or "stop drawing when I stop running" something like that.
something like a sergeant in front of me to draw would be cool too.
Just an idea

kick ass!
now that this thing is solidifying, im really excited.
While I'm all for the slogans, I really would not wear a white shirt that just said all that stuff.
No offense to any of you, its not like I would judge anyone wearing a shirt like that lol, but I would much rather wear a t-shirt or baseball jersey shirt that said something like
conceptart
on the front with a web addy & logo on the back.
A book would be killer (!!!!!), as would a poster of androids SPs...OMG if i could only buy one thing, it would be that poster.
i dunno if my opinion matters, but i figured i'd express it anyways.
so deal =D

I would definately buy a long sleeve tee that said "Draw From Life!" and I would also buy a tee that has just the conceptart logo. All I ask is that there be some other colors besides white. I have a very bad track record with white shirts and I'd have to buy a new one every few weeks if I wanted to wear my CA shirt in public. It would be really cool if in the future (and if the store idea works) we could have a ring or pin that would identify us to other CA members, but no one else would know what it means.

We NEED a "Honk if you like generic flying things" !!
I LOL when I saw that comment. That's the best!
Anyway, all of these ideas are really cool. Jason, I'm glad you guys are going forward with all of this. Nothing would make me more proud than to prance around with a CA.org shirt on my back and mug full of jo in my hand!
Slogans for crowds like us are really hard to come up with, I'm also tending to shy away from the corny ones, but something would be nice.
I wonder if it would be possible to have your screen name, avatar, and heading printed on a shirt with CA.org somewhere else as well. That might be good. That way if you did meet another member you would definitely be recognized. (Notice the sly marketing ploy as well...as member's names are updated they'll have to buy a new shirt! LOL!)
I wish I had a brilliant brainstorm for something but I just wanted to voice my opinion that all of these ideas are great and I will be supporting them with my hard earned dollars! Thanks so much!

T-shirt back: "Would you pose for me?" That would be great.
I like Smeagol's ideas too. It owuld be intresting to see if anyone in my aera actuly is on here. :p
As for Andrew's poster, i still think a photo-mosic would kick ass, and mabye a T-Shirt with the same design.
But a book would definetly be at the top of my list! :D

How about one that says "I got these skillz at ConceptArt:" and then there's just a picture of a big red X? Ok, that's lame.
Whatever you decide, I'm buying. Especially if it comes in "trucker hat" form, because unfortunately, I'm THAT guy...:)

Man the logo kicks ass I'd wear that. have like ''conceptart.org'' and have the logo on the back with the shut up and draw saying under it

since itīs about getting some bucks i think it would be way more effective if a bunch of really cool shirts and designs were made with the focus more on great motives and designs (that everyone artist or not would happily wear, thus buy) than on some slogan that just a few can relate to.
i mean talent is here more than enough to create stuff appealing to a broader audience.

I like the Andrew Jones portrait idea, but can jwo go one better and arrange the pics so that when viewed as a whole they form a giant self portrait of Andrew Jones? i've seen it done with album covers to form Bob Marley's face and it looks cool as hell.
I'd love to have a shirt with a small CA logo on the chest, and some graphics on the back with the slogan "Take your clothes off. It's OK, I'm an artist."
But most of all I'd love a CA coffee cup. Stainless steel would be great (I'd settle for a ceramic one), but stay away from those flimsy soft plastic lids. Disastrous! I love coffee way too damn much...

Badmanage: That idea can be done by using photo montage program. it aranges all the pictures onto one picture fairly well for such a cheap software...
however you would need all of his self portraits and it may have repeats :)
