Sorry for the link, but there are multiple images.
I was messing with that a little while ago. I'm not sure about this but when the topic is Hyper-speed, doesnt that mean space craft? Not aircraft or ground vehicles?

Well, it's capable of hyperspeed travelling, but it's mainly used for hign-atmosphere racing around distant planets. Illegal of course, but really funny.

What I am trying to get across, is that if you continue to do sketches, that continually have the same errors in them, and are not fixing these errors, then the quick sketches arent helping.
Yeah that makes sense, but what does that have to do with MIKECORRIERO? Are you saying that there are errors that he repeated in all of his sketches? Then point them out and give some constructive critism. You have to back that sort of statement up...
Anyway, you dont know what areas an artist is concentrating on when he makes a sketch, so you really have no idea if hes benifiting from doing it. I think If mikecorriero is motivated enough to do that many sketches in a topic he hasnt done much of before, then good on him. ;)

Keep up the good work.

dude what the hell tom? you edited my post? WOW --ive never been censored before...especially when there wasnt even anything offensive in my statements.
i am very dissapointed you chose to delete my words tom....
it kinda defeats the purpose of a forum when a mod is censoring your conversation so he wont look bad....
im not sure about this forum anymore

yeah, last time i was edited (in that bad of a way anyway) was by rob ashley on eatpoo. But it was funnier there, because he'd delet my post, but keep his posts, which quoted mine, in the thread.

Mtom posted his opinion on some of the sketches and the 'sketchiness' of them.
he soon realized that his msg wasn't worded the way he wanted it to and read offensively to some users. He deleted his thread and appoligized and hastely deleted all the posts dealing with the subject because he knew the dsg wasn't the proper place for the dicussion.
I perfer if the topic was dropped and the artists who enjoy doing the dsg continue and not worry about what the others think.
There is no skill level bar to be in dsg, yet i do agree with mtom too a certain degree. I feel that there are some artists that are so unexperienced that they might not be on par with the other concepts/illustrations... yet what can you do...
I've have heard rumor of some artists bickering about the unsatisfactory level of dsg results and 90% of them are from the artists who aren't posting.
Anyways. This isn't really the place for dicussion... even though there isn't really a better place. So, Please keep up the good work and continue with your entries with good spirit, i know i shall.
- and if anyone wants to duke it out still. I suggest downloading the free FPS Wolfenstien: Enemy Territory off fileplanet. There is nothing more satisfactory than sniping someone you hate in the face.

Hey thar maties. I've been gone for a few days. Well... not gone, really... just art-blank. Anyhow, I came up with this. Garsh it's late. I'm often late, it seems.
Here's my racer, and also my racer as it might appear on your cheap little view screen.
Everybuddy did great stuff... I'm too tired to go point by point, but I think everybody deserves a gold star.

this looks way out of topic so let's pretend it's some hyper speed GranTourismo car.
http://hpx1.free.fr/_stuff/dsg212.jpg
now after that crappy design i posted, i should prolly mind my own business but long stories short :
since it started, dsg has always been a place with a lot of creativity.
i often spot great ideas here and at the same time, i think that the pictures/renderings (as in drawing technique) would benefit from being more tight and professional-looking. (since concept art is imo, the art of finding the right way to depict/draw a good idea)
there are always things to improve, and i think dsg is a good way to practice our skills.
basically, mtom had a good point : when i spend more time on some specific problems instead of avoiding them, i improve. taking time to study and confront problems are half the way to solve them.
i took his words as good advices/things to remember for every designer.
again, i speak only for what i remember reading yesterday. just my 0.0002euros

Mike - Holy cow! What a great collection of offerings! Don't like vehicles and mechanical stuff, huh? Methinks thou dost protest too much... ;)
davi - Not your most inspired piece, but cool nonetheless!
Yfront - Love it! The teeth could be a little more finished, but :D
hurricane - Sweet.
tyboogie - Great wake!
devilbunny - You're taking to vehicles pretty nicely, I'd say!
Roeguard - Looks like that futuristic bullet train we were s'posed to make a while ago!
hardcorepixxx - Looks like a KnightRider version of a Porsche! Good technique.
And, thanks Wayfarer!

i always thought that although there is a concept in technique, technique is not a concept. it's a tool used to portray the concept, and can even end up being just "bells and whistles" if the piece lacks substance. so depending on what kind of job you're going for, one wouldn't have to feel pressured to use a wacom tablet or a ruler, and therefore do whatever they need to hone in on their stylistic voice (which may or may not require a straight edge etc), and use it as a refreshing contribution to design. or dealing with your sexual frustrations. or whatever you pursue art for. and things. just don't get tunnel vision
