???? About Photoshop Illustrator

Hey everyone. I'm new, obviously, and for a class I am taking in college we are learning how to use user support forums. Now, I know this question may be pretty simple...but if someone could just reply back to me, I would SO appreciate it. =)

Photoshop has a companion software program called Illustrator. What this software do that Photoshop does not do???

Photoshop is a raster editor, Illustrator is a vector editor. A raster image is a matrix of pixels of definite size, whilst a vector image is a resolution independent collection of statements that mathematically describes a picture.
