Ok, finally decided to man-up and start a sketchbook on CA. Recently got a Wacom tablet and started working digitally and figured I may as well log the journey in to new territory.
First up I'll post up some traditional stuff that I'm trying to grow past.

Heres some Marker work. (Might try and recreate this sort of style digitally, Tria markers are awesome but they're bad for my wallet!) The 360 Halo faceplate was something I painted on for a friend, we're all gamers and play far too much Halo.

Cool stuff. Seems like the colors in your first post can use more saturation(your star wars paintings) the 1st panel in the last row of your judge dread page looks like the girl is flying instead of falling imo. in your 2nd post im enjoing your style. But in http://www.conceptart.org/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=305352&stc=1&d=1203284323 looks like the girls face could use a little work. The face looks a bit lop sided. Keep up the good work!

Cheers Kaffinated. Hopefully the saturation problems with the first post have been sorted out now : ) Will give the girls head a tweak soon too. Italian horsey thanks also.
Ok, so here are my first 2 pieces of digital work. I'm currently teaching myself photoshop and painter and these are the results so far. I'm wrestling with the new programs I'm using here so I kept it simple and used someone elses characters. Expect some more original work as I get more used to photoshop : P

Nice stuff for your first digital stuff, but thats to be expected considering the traditional stuff you've shown. Just make sure to keep some harder lines in there, as its very easy to be fuzzy with digital art. Also, try different brushes and textures.
Nice stuff, keep posting!!

Yeah Chaotic, I'm airbrush and opacity crazy at the moment and it makes everything a bit smooth and static. Gonna try and loosen up a lot and get messy!
A lot of the guys I admire seem to just throw stuff down with really textured brushes and their work looks energetic and bold (bastards lol). Hopefully I'll get there eventually.
Cheers for the comments guys.

yeah dude, try to stay away from that airbrush, it always kills all the life and texture, instead try using a round one with rugged edges or a spackled one, well that one's better for skin and stuff.
your colors look good, and you know how to make a strong composition!

I like your work. It has a fairly retro look to it.

A friend of mine is writing a book at the moment and occasionally he throws me a character description to play with. Heres a quick go at one of the bad guys. Exquisite and Algenpfleger: cheers for the encouragement.
